Diagrams,orientations, and varieties

One of the central problems in the theory of ordered sets is to describe the orientations of the covering graph of an ordered set. We show that the particular operation called inversion, together with the classical constructions of retraction and product, provide a context for the classification of all such orientations. Increase of Calcium Levels at Interphase in NIH 3T3 Cells

The fluorescent calcium ion indicator dye Fluo-3 and DNA-binding dye Hoechst 33342 were employed to determine, in a quantitative microspectrofluorometric study, the intracellular calcium ion concentration ([Ca~(2+)]_i) and the DNA content of individual living NIH3T3 cells. The well-separated excitation and emission properties of these dyes allowed us to establish for each cell both the phase of the cell cycle using DNA content and [Ca~(2+)]_i. We found that the transition from G_1, through S, to the G_2 phase is accompanied by a two-fold increase in [Ca~(2+)]_i. The [Ca~(2+)]_i was inhomologous in each phase of the interphase (G_1, S and G_2) although [Ca~(2+)]_i in the S and G_2 phases was never lower than certain threshold values in the G_1 and S phases respectively. [Ca~(2+)]_i in G_0 cells was lower than that in G_2 cells. These changes in [Ca~(2+)]_i suggest that [Ca~(2+)]_i may be an import regulator of cell cycle progression.     

A Kinetic Evidence for the Nitroxyl Radicals Recycling Mechanism in the Photostabilizing Process of HALS

The photoinduced bulk polymerization of a reactive-hindered amine fight stabilizers(r-HALS), 4-acryloyl-2, 2, 6, 6-tetramethylpiperidinyl (ATMP), was performed at 80℃ by using a DPC technique. An unique periodic exponential attenuation-type oscillating curve was found when the polymerization was carried out in air, but this phenomenon was not found in nitrogen.It is supposed that this unique kinetic performance may be attributed to nitroxyl radicals that are produced in situ from the oxidation of ATMP. ATMP polymer with narrow polydispersity (d =1.03) can be obtained by photoinduced solution polymerization of ATMP. The signal detected in ESR may be assigned to the nitroxyl radicals in the matrix of ATMP polymer. Since this kind of recycling of nitroxyl radicals is well documented for the photostabilizing mechanism of HALS, the present results may serve as a kinetic evidence for this mechanism.     

Small molecules as inhibitors of cyclin-dependent kinases

Cell division (mitosis) is one of the basic requirements for multicellular oranisms. The capability of a cell to replicate enables a complex assembly to be created. Faulty regulation of the control mechanism in the cell cycle leads to an excessive cell proliferation and is the cause of cancer. The key position of the cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) and their direct partners, as well as the fact that the majority of malign illnesses show defects in at least one of these key players of the cell cycle, is of great interest for the development of low-molecular-weight CDK inhibitors. In this Review an overview of the different structural classes of ATP-competitive inhibitors of CDKs are given, whose devlopment was aimed at battling cancer. The Review shows how far the development of selective CDK inhibitors has progressed and to what extent the expectations for such drugs have so far been fulfilled.     

On the Permanental Polynomials of Some Graphs

Let G be a simple graph with adjacency matrix A(G) and (G,x) the permanental polynomial of G. Let G × H denotes the Cartesian product of graphs G and H. Inspired by Kleins idea to compute the permanent of some matrices (Mol. Phy. 31 (3) (1976) 811–823), in this paper in terms of some orientation of graphs we study the permanental polynomial of a type of graphs. Here are some of our main results.1.If G is a bipartite graph containing no subgraph which is an even subdivision of K _2,3, then G has an orientation G ^e such that (G,x) = det (xI-A(G ^e )), where A(G ^e ) denotes the skew adjacency matrix of G ^e.2.Let G be a 2-connected outerplanar bipartite graph with n vertices. Then there exists a 2-connected outerplanar bipartite graph with 2n+2 vertices such that (G,x) is a factor of .3.Let T be an arbitrary tree with n vertices. Then , where ₁ , ₂ , ..., _n are the eigenvalues of T.     

Significance of a volcano relation of fajans for hydration energies

A volcano-shaped relation between heats of solution of a series of salts and the difference of hydration energy of the ions of the salt was noted by Fajans. This relation has a maximum when the difference of hydration energy of the cation and anion approaches zero. A rationalization of this type of relation is proposed on the basis of sums of reciprocal radii terms which represent the dependence of electrostatic hydration energy on ion size. The general trend of heats of solution with ionic size in series of salts with either a common cation or a common anion is discussed.

"Yufuling" is used as the entry point to fish selling to connect food safety with chemistry. Fishy smell is explained from a chemical perspective for fish food. This paper aims at making a scientific explanation of life phenomena, deepening the consciousness of chemical life, helping people establish a correct view of chemical science, and inspiring youth to learn to use the knowledge that they have learned to explain life phenomena. This paper also tries to show the youth that life cannot be separated from chemistry, and chemistry cannot be separated from life.     

尖晶石LiMn_2O_4的多元掺杂改性研究

采用高温固相法合成了多元复合掺杂改性的尖晶石型锰酸锆正极材料，用X射 线衍射法对材料进行了表征，表明所得材料均呈现良好的尖晶石的结构，通过充放 电测试，发现其中LiMn_(1.93)Co_(0.02)Cr_(0.02)Al_(0.02)La_(0.01)O_4和 LiMn_(1.93)Co_(0.02)Cr_(0.02)Al_(0.02)-Zr_(0.01)O_4的循环性能有了很大程 度的改善，循环50次后仍能保持94%和91%的容量。     

分解水制氢的KNO3—I2循环之研究：Ⅲ.代替电解反应的一个子循环

本文提出了一个硫酸中间盐子循环用以代替分解水制氢的KNO_3-I_2混合循环中的电解反应,从而使原混合循环变为一个纯热化学循环。
